Artist Statement
‘I am inspired by the serene beauty of the landscapes that surround us, where the calmness and joy of nature invite quiet reflection. In my work, I translate this experience by simplifying the elements and transposing the colours, distilling the soft, enveloping sense of being immersed in the land. I carefully curate my palette to convey the play of light and encourage the viewers gaze to stretch across the unfolding landscape.
Through layers of bold colour I build depth and texture, gradually toning down the intensity while allowing vibrant glimpses to peek through. This layering process mirrors the reassuring pulse of the natural world, which I am to transcribe into paint. Ultimately, my work is a way to share the tranquility I feel in nature, offering the viewer a moment of connection and calm in turn. It My hope is that through my paintings others may find a quiet moment of connection, reflection and discovery.’
